Cable driven 2-axis remote head

I've stopped working on this mechanically driven remote head. It's been worth the try, have a look at the shots. The shots that are achievable with that kind of control are limited:
1) pan is restricted to approx. 300°
2) the tilt cable in its curved state tries to expand and thus induces a force that makes the pan axis turn from time to time
3) slow, continuing camera panning or tilting is virtually impossible merely due to the fact that it has to be done 1:1 manually.

Check out the motor driven pan/tilt head!
